Description:
BN 9776, an F7A mated with a Northern Pacific B unit is seen near Butte, MT. Supposedly the "Mainstreeter" train, the photo is u but the train was discontinued after Amtrak took over long distance traffic. Picture itself is undated and the Photographer is unknown. Date is a guess. New as NP's 6509A, the loco was sold to Amtrak in 1972 and quickly acquired the new Amtrak colors as its 102.
